Introduction and Purpose

Chan Fuk Sing Memorial Trust Fund for Rehabilitation (“the Fund”) was set up in 1997 in memory of Mr. Chan Fuk Sing for the promotion and development of rehabilitation services for disabled persons in Hong Kong. The Fund is currently managed by the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation (“HKSR”). To recognize the outstanding academic performance of secondary school students with physical disabilities in Hong Kong, the Chan Fuk Sing Memorial Trust Fund for Rehabilitation Scholarship (“CFS Scholarship”) was set up in 2024 under the Fund to award students with outstanding results in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE). In addition to recognize the achievement of the students with physical disabilities, the scholarship also hopes to encourage these students to continue overcome their limitations and further develop their potential.

Scholarship Value

The awardees can receive HK$10,000 (Scheme A: Outstanding Academic Award)  or HK$5,000 (Scheme B: Excellent Academic Award) from the scholarship.

Eligibility

Applicants should:

1. Be a permanent resident of Hong Kong studying in Hong Kong Aided Special Schools for Children with Physical Disability (7 schools as of Sept. 2023 according to the Education Bureau); AND

2. Be the HKDSE candidate of 2025, with (Scheme A: Outstanding Academic Award) at least 5 subjects, OR (Scheme B: Excellent Academic Award) 1 to 4 subjects taken in the HKDSE; AND

3. Take at least one of the subjects among Chinese Language, English Language or Mathematics Compulsory Part with the result at level 3 or above; AND

4. Be nominated by the Principal of the school studied in the 2024/25 school year (up to 3 nominations for each school).

Selection Criteria

1. For applicant who takes 5 subjects or more, the total grade points for the best 5 subjects will be considered;

2. For applicant who takes less than 5 subjects, the total grade points for all the subjects taken in the HKDSE will be considered;

3. Nomination by the School Principal.

Application Procedures

Applicant is required to complete the application form with the copy of the HKDSE results notice and send the completed application form to his/her School Principal to countersign. The school is required to complete the nomination form. Each aided Special Schools for Children with Physical Disability can nominate up to THREE students.

ALL applications must be submitted by schools with the completed and signed application form and nomination form, together with the copy of HKDSE results notice to the Secretariat of the CFS Scholarship by email: cfsscholarship@rehabsociety.org.hk or by fax to 2855 1947.
