The operation of Rehabus Scheduled Route Service (SRS) is similar to that of company coaches and school buses: providing a regular point-to-point public transport service for persons with disabilities (PWDs) who holds the Hong Kong Identity Card and has difficulties in using public transport to travel to and from certain destinations (i.e. workplaces, schools, training centers and medical institutions). In consideration of the special needs of PWDs, carers can accompany the PWDs to ride on Rehabus. Only applications with a schedule of at least 5 trips per week are eligible.
SRS is operated from Mondays to Saturdays (except public holidays), 06:30 to 10:00 in the morning and 15:00 to 19:00 in the afternoon. On Saturdays, return trips can be arranged from 12:00 to 14:00 with fixed schedule and locations. Service will be provided flexibly, to the best of our ability, to fit the demands of the applicants, e.g. certain routes may start before 06:30 or end after 19:00. Since the SRS buses will also deployed to provide Dial-a-Ride service (DAR) outside the SRS service hours, applications that deviate from the aforementioned service times to a greater extent will be rejected on the grounds that it may interfere with DAR.
In principle, the SRS will prioritize wheelchair users and commuters who use the service for working and schooling. Successful applications depend on whether there are suitable routes and whether those routes have vacant seats or wheelchair spaces. If applicants can accept flexible boarding and alighting times and locations, it will boost the chance of the application being successful. If the commuting time and other aspects of the SRS are largely unaffected, SRS users are required to accept changes in schedule (including boarding and alighting times and locations), routes, number of passengers, as well as changes to the driver and vehicle.
By route number, the SRS has the Hong Kong H Route, the Kowloon K Route, the New Territories T Route and the Cross-Harbor X Route. Each route is divided into morning and evening trips. These service routes will change after the intake or leave of service users. Information provided online may not be updated in time. Therefore, the route information (Chinese Only) is for reference only.
