Rehabus will apply for 6 Lantau Closed Road Permits every year so as to better serve the travelling needs of our users towards places like Po Lin Monastery, Tai O and Mui Wo in South Lantau.

Since the journey via the closed section of Tung Chung Road takes at least 1 hour and 15 minutes due to road conditions, the interval between the outward trip and return trip will be charged so as to ensure effective use of resources. However, if the destination of the outward trip is Po Lin Monastery and the user intends to travel to Tung Chung by using other modes of transport (such as Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car), and the pick-up point of the return trip is Tung Chung, such rule will not apply.

The permits will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, i.e. the first six successful users can use the permits applied by Rehabus for free. After that, any users who need the permit should apply for the permit from the Transport Department on their own.
