Effective from 25 January 2026, it is a legal requirement for passengers to wear a seat belt when travelling on buses (including public and private buses). Accordingly, when travelling on a rehabus, passengers must remain seated with their seat belts fastened, or be positioned in a securely locked wheelchair with the occupant restraint properly secured. Passengers unable to wear a seat belt for physical or other reasons must obtain an exemption from the Commissioner for Transport*.
Upon receiving your new or renewed ‘Seat Belt Exemption Certificate’ from the Transport Department, please submit a copy to Rehabus at least 4 working days before your next scheduled trip. You may send it via email to (rehabus@rehabsociety.org.hk) or by post. To ensure prompt processing, please include your Rehabus Customer ID in the email subject line or on the envelope.
Passengers are required to show the original, valid ‘Exemption Certificate’ to our bus captain upon boarding during each trip.
