Like some Hongkongers, Chi Yin had to travel between Mainland and Hong Kong frequently for work. In April, 2014, he showed confused mental status and involuntary movement when dining with his wife and his friends. He was sent to hospital immediately. CT scan revealed ischemic stroke in the right hemisphere of his brain. He lost active control of his left side body at that time. Assistance from two to three persons was required to help him transfer from lying to sitting.

After engaging in Grow Richer Life : Golden Rehabilitation Service for non-elderly persons with Stroke, he received active and intensive rehabilitation for about 4 months. Motor control and balance showed significant improvements. Now he can go outside and travel alone with a stick. In addition, he tries to return to his previous job. Though his physical functioning cannot resume fully to pre-stroke level, he has learnt how to live with the residual symptoms and the disabilities.
