Our Services

Vocational Rehabilitation and Retraining Centre was founded in 1994 and provides vocational training and employment services to help adults who, as a result of illness and/or accidents, have become disabled and partially lost their ability to resume work.

The services of our Centre include:

            • Employees Retraining Board (ERB) Training Courses
              Courses sponsored by Employees Retraining Board (ERB) to train vocational skills of participants. Most of our courses are Placement-tied. Participants will be subsidised for the course fee and will receive assistance in job hunting upon the completion of course.
            • Vocational Counselling Services- “Supported Employment Training for Persons with Disabilities”
              Our Vocational Counselling Services are subvented by Social Welfare Department.
            • Adult Education Courses
              Funded by Labour and Welfare Bureau, our Adult Education Courses aim at enhancing the skills of service users in job seeking and life skills.

Employees Retraining Board (ERB) Training Courses

Our ERB Training Courses includes“Placement-tied Courses”as well as “Generic skills Training Courses”. The former are full-time courses designed according to the needs of a specific industry coupled with the follow-up“Vocational Counselling Service”; and if our service users met the required attendance rate, he or she will be given the course fee subsidies. The latter are part-time courses aimed at enhancing the generic vocational skills of participants.

Courses Features

  1. No training fee required, and trainees will be subsidized for joining “placement-tied courses.”
  2. One person per computer for computer courses.
  3. All instructors have 5 years or above experience on training and supervision.
  4. Volunteers are appointed as tutors to provide support for participants with learning difficulties.
  5. Placement and volunteer service opportunities are provided for participants to practise the vocational skills learnt.
  6. Experienced staff in vocational counselling are available to aid participants in capturing employment opportunities.
  7. Group training sessions and activities are available for alumni to build up peer support.
  8. Internet and social network platforms enabling participants to exchange updated information on employment.

Vocational Counselling Services

Vocational Counselling Services- “Supported Employment Training for persons with Disabilities”

Our Vocational Counselling Services are subvented by Social Welfare Department.

Features of service

        1. Social workers will intensively follow up on employment services including regular phone call follow-ups and face to face follow-ups job referrals, job hunt training, employment consultation, job coaching, emotion counselling, supporting services referring, and many more.
        2. Individual job planning strategy will be prepared based on the needs of participants.
        3. Psycho-social groups (such as Cognitive behaviour therapy, Positive psychology, etc.) will be arranged to enhance the adaptability of participants in their working environment and job seeking, and to widen their peer support network.
        4. Volunteer services (such as peer support, programme planning, tutoring, etc.) will be offered to participants based on their strength and desire so that all participants can make use of their strengths to help each other.
        5. Internet and social network platforms are utilized to provide updated information on employment.
