Legacy Giving
Wealth does not come easily. Many people spend every penny wisely, and even make arrangements for their assets before their passing. Choosing The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation as the beneficiary of your bequests can not only spread out the message of spending money wisely, but also allows persons with disabilities and with chronic illnesses to live a fulfilling life with dignity. . To distribute your assets based on your wishes, the easiest way is to seek professional assistance from solicitors or other relevant bodies who provide will-drafting services, and let your family know about your decision.
Legacy Giving – Three Steps
(1) Select your bequest.
General Bequest | General Bequests are exactly the items you want to leave and to whom, while giving your executors the flexibility to decide from which source the funds are to be paid. |
Specific Bequest | Similar to General Bequests, Specific Bequests allow you to select from which source the funds are to be paid. For instance, you could leave The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation a percentage of your properties. |
Residuary Bequest | Residurary Bequests are made after all other bequests have been made to families and all expenses and taxes have been paid. |
Contingent Bequest | Contingent bequests are only made if certain conditions are met. For example, if your principle beneficiary passes away before you, you may wish to designate The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation as the next choice in line. |
