In Memory of Mr LUK Chi-keung Rex –

our beloved and amazing work partner and friend

  • Rex

The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation (HKSR) records with deep sadness the passing of Mr. LUK Chi-keung, Rex, Director (Operations, Rehabus) on January 25, 2021 at the age of 54.

Born in 1966, Rex first joined HKSR as Transport Manager of Rehabus in 1992. He was promoted to Director of Rehabus in 2006.

Hand in hand with HKSR for almost 3 decades, Rex was devoted to accessible transport and travel services locally and overseas, promoting social inclusion and advocating disability rights. His outstanding contributions had changed the lives of many.

He was also committed to other duties and was a part of different occasions at HKSR, namely fundraising events, annual dinner and staff wellness club.

Apart from playing a key role in the history of Hong Kong’s accessible transport, Rex shared his unparalleled expertise abroad. He was an active participant at the International Conference on Mobility and Transport for Elderly and Disabled Persons (TRANSED). He also promoted accessible transport in Macau and Taiwan, and introduced the first accessible vehicle to Sichuan, helping countless people with disabilities.

Rex exuded cheerful and humorous characters. With his enduring commitment and innovative thinkings to contribute to the community, he was respected and admired by many people in Hong Kong and internationally. Rex’ beaming face with smiley eyes as well as his selfless and commendable devotions will always remain in our hearts.

HKSR would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude with honour to the late Mr Luk for his enormous contributions to the Society.

May he rest in peace.

The condolence messages will be posted on this page until March 31, 2021.
