HKSR Volunteer Team

The forerunner of “HKSR Volunteer Team” was the “Rehab Volunteers” established in 1983. Our volunteers come from different walks of life, who are enthusiastic to contribute their valuable time and effort to serve other. Their serving targets are:

  • People with disabilities

  • People with chronic illnesses

  • Elderly

 

The services of the “HKSR Volunteer Team” are all-rounded and diversified, which include:
  • Visiting

  • Social recreational activity

  • Fundraising

  • Service promotion

  • Social education

  • Health care

  • Training & coaching

  • Clerical support

Volunteer Requirement and Registration

Please support the work of HKSR and register to be the volunteer of “HKSR Volunteer Team” by completing the Volunteer Registration Form. Applicants must be aged 16 or above. People with disabilities are welcome to become our volunteers. Apart from individual volunteers, company or organization volunteers are welcome to join our services, and please contact the Resources Development & Communication Unit of HKSR (Tel:2817-6277) for further information.

 

Training

Irregular trainings (e.g. understanding of chronic illnesses, maneuvering wheelchair, organizing activities and etc.) will be provided to volunteers, aiming at increasing their understanding of rehab services and related skills of volunteering. For details, HKSR will inform volunteers according to their service tasks.

  

Volunteer Award Scheme

To acknowledge the contribution of volunteers, the HKSR has established the Volunteer Award Scheme, in which volunteers will be rewarded with the presentation of thank-you letter and certificate according to their hours of service catered in one year as follows.

Outstanding Volunteer Award

Volunteers completed 200 hours or above and attended at least 2 volunteer training sessions; meanwhile, his / her performance is recommended by unit manager

Volunteer Golden Award

200 hours or above

Volunteer Sliver Award

100 hours or above

Volunteer Bronze Award

50 hours or above
